  • The Thing With Feathers

When you are discouraged with the progress towards the dreams you are wanting to manifest, how do you keep hope alive?  Do you believe, like Emily Dickenson, that hope is “the thing with feathers, that perches in the soul,” that never stops singing?

  • Like the Birds Sing

Are you externally motivated, coming from a fear-based, perfectionistic position? Or are you more your authentic self? I can relate to Rumi’s words, “I want to sing like the birds sing, not worrying about who hears or what they think.”

  • Anything Can Be

This year I am going to actively work to believe, and know, the line from the Shel Silverstein poem, that reads, “Anything can happen, child.  Anything can be!” Transformation starts with believing and feeling the truth of that statement.

  • Until Serenity Enters

When life is throwing you curveballs, and your mind is going round and round like a hamster on a wheel, how do you slow down and find serenity?

  • Self-Care, Not Selfishness!

Self-care is an important part of mental well being.  Spending time doing some of the things we love, and that fill us up with joy, is not selfishness.  Because without self care, how else could we shine our light?

  • The Present is Presence

Sometimes the greatest present we can give is our presence!

  • Space and Boundaries

“We do not lead others into the Light by stepping into the darkness with them.” Melody Beattie. Holding space for someone’s suffering is a loving act, while stepping into the dark with them can be codependent and lacking in boundaries.

  • Not Your Business!

It is sometimes hard to hold space for people who are suffering, and not offer unsolicited and unwelcome advice.  When I focus on my own thoughts, and go a step further and affirm the things in my life that feel good, I find it so much easier to shine, even in the midst of challenges.

  • Connection and Solitude

Having face-time with other people and connecting is so powerful. But solitude, connecting with oneself, and allowing time for reverie, is also important!

  • Smiling Saturdays

I have labeled Saturdays as “Smiling Saturday”, because Saturdays feel spacious, wide open in the field of possibilities, full of freedom, and that makes me smile.
